    in the olecranon fossa, it is easily detached by hyper- extension or by horizontal backward pressure. Rosser, as long ago as 1844, showed that hyperex- tension would overcome this condition, and still I have never had a house surgeon who applied it. When we examine the bones of this joint we find Fig. 10.—L. V. Separation of Lower Epiphysis of the Humerus; extreme flexion, bad position. that the coronoid process is more than half an inch high, that means that to reduce the dislocation by the commonly applied right angle method the strong lateral ligaments must be elongated to that degree while the process plows over the trochlear surface.
