![RESPIRATORY DISEASE In 1962 more than half the deaths from respiratory disease occurred at the age of 75 or over and almost half occurred in the first quartern Influenza due to the milder Virus B occurred in Eng. & Wales in the first quarter but judging from the sickness benefit figures the disease had not a marked effect here. In December we had five days of fog. As deaths from respiratory disease may reflect environmental conditions the following details are recorded in spite of the absence of noteworthy content. Negative findings can be as useful as well as positive findings. Having regard to the noteworthy fog at the beginning of December and the fact that fog is likely to increase deaths from respiratory disease in particular and all deaths in general, the cause of deaths of the last quarter have been analysed on a monthly basis.
