    MEDICAL + VERISAN af GU IDE | ; : -_-BA=GO EARACHE. In most cases earache is relieved by a hot fomentation — applied above.the ear, or a small mustard plaster behind it. | ECZEMA. An inflammatory, “ itchy” condition of the skin, often” associated with some other ailment (which should be treated, if known). Relief is obtained by applying Germotak to the affected part. Always use Germotak Soap. ERYSIPELAS. A notifiable, infectious disease At the skin, charac terised by bright red skin- tash and high body-temperature. EYE (Grit in). To remove foreign bodies from the eye, roll up ¢ a- piece of white blotting-paper nee a pipe lighter, moisten and use» with care. EYES (Care of). Like every other organ, the eyes need to be cleansed frequently, and periodical bathing with Eye Lustrant Lotion— | using an eye-bath—will do much to lessen strain, tiredness andsoreness. © FAINTING. Loosen all clothing round the throat, neck and chest. - Lay the patient flat, with the head slightly lower than the body, and sprinkle face and hands with cold water. Smelling salts may be used, but avoid giving the patient any liquid to sip until conscious- 2 ness is fully recovered, i FEVER. Abnormally high temperature is almost certainly a sign that medical attention is required. It is a wise plan to keep a cunieal thermometer in the house, so that the temperature can be taken at the first sign of illness. The pune body temperature is 98.4 deptees @ (Fahrenheit)... Mice FLATULENCE. The presence of “‘ wind” in the stomach and intestines is due to imperfect digestion. Certain foods are specially — conducive to flatulence, and stews, soups, strong tea and starchy — foods should be avoided. Relief is obtained by taking Ae 4 Indigestion Tablets, one or two after’ meals. — GERMAN MEASLES. Isolation is necessary and the Doctor | should be called in. i GOUT. A painful inflammatory condition of the smaller joints, | ; caused by the failure of the kidneys to eliminate uric acid.
