    There is still a very serious shortage of female nurses and this throw.^ a grave extra strain on this part of the Staff. Nobody regrets more than I do the number of hours of overtime that these girls have to do. I am most grateful to the Red Cross and St. John's Nursing Associa¬ tions for valuable help. CONCLUSION ♦ In concluding this my first Annual Report to you, I beg leave to thank you, Mr. Chairman, and all other members of the Management Committee for your continued support and confidence and for the valuable advice I have so often, received from you all.
