There was a definite improvement in the notifications of this disease in all races this year. The total of deaths was slightly less than last year. Approximately 26% of the total expenditure by this Department was under the head Anti-Tuberculosis Measures, MINIATURE MASS RADIOGRAPHY. In 1954 the City Council installed a 70 mm. Miniature X-Ray set (a fixed unit) in the Public Health Department. The following table indicates the type of patient coming to or being referred to the unit for a miniature X-Ray :- (See page 46 for detailed break¬ down of these figures).
