The death-rate is 12‘9, compared with 12’0 in the previous year. The infantile mortality-rate is oT’S per 1,000 registered births, whicdi compares favourably with ()0'o for 1920. An epidemi(5 of acute poliomyelitis (infantile paralysis) occurred (hiring the latter half of tlie yeai‘, and there was a marked jirevalence of diphtlieria in the llorough of lleverlev. Five cases of small-pox were notified in tlie Conntv. €/ ^Maternity and (diild Welfare work has made further progress by the opening of another Infant AWlfare Centre at Cottingham. A voluntary centre under the control of the Local Xnrsing Association has also commenced work in Sutton-on-Hiill.
