    Supervision over the construction of new houses is a part of the duties of the Council's Surveyor, and the drainage and sanitary fittings are controlled by the Sanitary Inspector. Tabular statement under Article V. of the Housing (Inspect' ion of District) Regulations, 1910:— 1. Some progress has been made with the scheme under the above, and the area finally decided upon comprises that portion of the Urban district south of the old Roman road passing through Stowford— about 1000 acres in all. The scheme was advertised on October 22nd, and on November 19th the first of the statutory public meetings was held to ascertain the attitude of persons interested in or affected by the scheme.
