![OYNTMENT 18$ 'Hoyl them to ajujl thickyiefi. Culpeper.] It is a very fine,and ve¬ ry gentle clenfer of wounds and ul¬ cers. w. Vertues newly added. This oyntinent doth alfo open ob- ftru&ions of the Liver and ipleen,be¬ ing fmeared upon the Hypochon- dnes. It moves urine anointed u- pon the Region of the Kidneys and fhare. It is good again!} the wind colick, anointed upon the belly. It clears the Huffing of the Lungs, fmeared upon the cheft. Liniment of Gum Elemi Colledg.] Take of Gum Elemi, Turpentine of the Fir-tree, of each one ounce and an half. Old Sheep Suet clenfed two ounces. Old Hogs greetfe clenfed one ounce. Mix them} and make them into an oynt- ment according to art. Culpeper.] Although our Chyrur- gians commonly ufe this only for wounds and ulcers in the head, yet he that makes trial Ihal find it excel¬ lent for ulcers, if not too famous, in any part of the body, though in the feet, and they are at the greateft di- ftance from the head ; it gently clen- feth and filleth up an ulcer with flefii, it being of a mild nature, and friend¬ ly to the Body. It fafely heals wounds withont danger of fettering, it fills hollow ul¬ cers with flefh alter they have been firft clenfed according to art, when there is pain in ulcers it affwages the fane, and fpeedily over fpreads the Cicatrix or Scar. Colledg commends this Oyntment to engender flefh in the beginning of the Compounds, and indeed it doth fo i but if you pleafe to take counfel of Dr. Experience, he wil tel you that the former is better.
