![Virtues newly ad ded. This oyntment hath Jts name from a certain Excrement of Brafs produ¬ ced in the melting thereof, which is called in Gfeek Pompholix, and in Latin becaufe of its lightnefs nihil)as if you would fay a thing of nought or of no Subftance. This I formerly commended to be ufod in fore Eyes mixed with Oynt¬ ment of Tutty. It hath an excellent faculty in the Cure of ulcers, for it mitigates their Heat, dries up their moifture, tames their cancerous ma¬ lignity, aflwages their pain, fills their cavities with flelh and brings them to a fear, but it is principally good for ulcers of the Legs and Shinns. It is good to apply to ftop the violent Flux of the Haemorrhoids, and a- nointed upon the Reins of the Back itwil help the fimple Gonorrhaea, and aflwage the white Flux of Wo¬ men. Smeared upon the Temples and forehead it flops defluxions of Rheume into the teeth, and aflwages paine of the Head and tooth-ach, and enclines the reftlefs Patient to fleep. And in Head-ach arifing from an hot caufe, it is good anointed as aforefaid. In tooth-aefi and Coughs arifing from hot thin and fait Rhumes, it is good to anoint upon the fleams or futures of the head upon the Templesy and Jaws, and on the nape of the Neck,alflo in pains of the joynts arifing from an hot Hu¬ mor. This is an excellent oyntment of Galon his Invention, being approved by long experience though it confifl: btit of two ingredients.
