I thought good to premiie a few words: They are all hot in operation, and ther- fore not to be: mealed with by people of hot conftitutions when they are in health, for fear of Feavers and a- duftion of blood ; but for people of cold conftitutions, as Melancholy and flegmatick people. If they drink, of them moderately nosy,and then for recreation, due confideration be¬ ing had to the part of the body which is weaKeft, they may do them good : yet indifeafes of Melancholy, neither ftrong Waters nor Sack is to be drunk, for they make the humor thin, and then up to the head it flies, where it fills the brain with fooliih and fearful imaginations. z. Let all young people forbear them whilfl they are in health, for their blood is ufually hot enough without them. ^ J- Have regard to the fqafon of the yeer, fofhall you find them jnore beneficial in Summer than in Winter, becaufc in.
