No Fever, nor any fort of cc Eruption follow’d; he was kept in breathing cc Sweats in Bed the 9th and 10th Day; a Day cc or two after he was purged, and fo a 2d, fcC and a 3d Time. The not meeting with Succefs in this At¬ tempt, would, I believe, have guarded a Cau¬ tious Perfon, from making a frefh Attack up¬ on fo weak a Conftitution, as Dr. Ojfiey, the Imculator, informs us he had. He was fub- jeSt to Fevers attended with Nervous Symp¬ toms. Surely this Gentleman could not be a proper Subjedl for them to try their fevere ?nethod upon. But fuch is their Obftinacy and Refolution, either in regard to their In- tereff, or the Hopes of giving Credit to their Practice, that they won’t be prevail’d upon to lay it afide, by the Difappointments they meet withal, or the ill Habit of Body the Pa¬ tient may lye under. For October 1, I find they made a Second Attempt, but with no Effedt ,* he was then purged as before, and re¬ leas’d from his Confinement ,* but what with Purging, Sweating and his Confinementy they pbferv’d he look'd Paler than ufual.
