This rate is slightly lower than in the previous year. The birth-rate has continuously fallen in recent years: — Year 1921. 1922. 1923. 1924. 1925. Bate 25.5 23.39 22.57 19.9 19.3 Heaths.—The number of deaths after allowing for inward and outward transfers was 396 giving a death- rate of 14.5 per 1,000. This rate is a slight increase on the rate for the previous year. This is mostly accounted for by the presence of an epidemic of measles during the year which was responsible for 17 deaths from that dis¬ ease.
