![PROMETHEUS same Jones and Brown purely a níiatter of environment. If there is clarity as to what comparison is made, there need be no ambiguity as to what is due to heredity, what to environment. In accounts of genetic experimentation, such comparison is commonly not explicitly set forth, but it is implicit, and if adequate data are given, it can be supplied by the reader. For clearness of thought this must always be done. By statistical extension, such com¬ parison may be made for large classes. But it is essential here as elsewhere to keep in mind that we are dealing with comparisons between concrete cases, not with propositions of absolute valid¬ ity.
