(General.) Statements 20 and 21 give the incidence of the principal infectious diseases in the town for 1919-1928. . Plague showed a decrease of 411 cases from that of 1927 and there was a slight diminution in the number of cases of continued fever. Chickenpox and measles occurred in an epidemic form, the former chiefly during the first five months of the year, and the latter during the last five months. Phthisis showed an increase of 100 cases over that of the previous year while among most of the other infectious diseases there was only a slight variation.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b31495278_0025.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
