Note that 3 D chromo¬ somes have a characteristic late replication over the middle or the lower half of the long arms (Dj), 2 are late replicating mostly over the centromere (Do), and 2 are earlier replicating (Dg). (From Yunis el al., 1964d.) perhaps most cases are due to primary nondisjunction occurring during oogenesis. The incidence of trisomy has been reported as 0.45 per 1000 newborns (Harden et al., 1964) and, as also noted in trisomy 18, there are significantly more affected females than males. \$
