One death occui-red in the Cannock wax'd, fnur in the injuries. Hednesfoi'd ward, and two in the Chadsmoor waxxl —total, 7—w'ith a x-atio of ‘31 per 1000, of which 4 occuxTed over 5 yeai-s ; against 15 recox’ded for the pi-eceding year, with a ratio of '68. Of the above-named seven injuries, four wex-e fi-om colliery accidents. Besides the inquests held on these injuries, inquests wex’e held on the following; (1) Jan. 27th, James Jones, aged 66 years, The AVorkhouse —died from syncope ; (2) Feb. 2nd, infant child of James Ingi*am, Bi'idgtown—died fxtxm haemorrhage into the bowels ; (3) April 10th, AV'm.
