![In the Medical Press, of 26t]i January, 1887, we find some remarks of Dr. Goodart's on brain tumours and localisation. He says: For the last thirteen years I have been making j)ost mortem examinations at Guy's Hospital, and during that time, although I have come across many cases of cerebral tumour, I do not remember to have seen a single case in which the tumour was at the same time accessible and so localised as to be capable of successful surgical attack. It is very doubtful whether in the region of cerebral tumours other than inflammatory, surgery has any future worth mentioning before it. Whether the operations for the removal of brain tumours ought not in many cases rather to be termed surgical audacities, a consideration of some of the fatal cases attending them, may throw some light.
