![Hospitals; Public and Voluntary. services for the area remained the same during (e) The hospital the year namely: Name. North Worcs. Joint Hospital. 9 9 9 9 Cottage Hospital. Situation. Hayley Green. Hayley Green. Lutley. Halesowen. Type. Isolation. Tuberculosis. Smallpox. General. Ac co mm. 42 beds, 6 cots 20 beds. 12 beds. 28 beds. All infectious cases are admitted to the North Worcestershire Joint Isolation Hospital, which also serves five other local authorities. The Smallpox Hospital at Lutley was not used during the year. The Cottage Hospital is used by the inhabitants of the Borough and is supported entirely by voluntary contributions. Maternity Cases are admitted to the Mary Stevens Maternity Home, Stourbridge. The County Council have also made arrange- ments for admission of patients to the Birmingham Hospitals. Cases of Ophthalmia Neonatorum requiring hospital treatment are sent through the County Medical Officer to the Birmingham Eye Hospital and to the Dudley Guest Hospital. (In other cases arrangements are made for home treatment). The County Council have made arrangements for cases of Puerperal Fever and Puerperal Pyrexia to be treated ot the General Hospital and the Women’s Hospital, Birmingham. The Hospitals of Birmingham are widely used by the in- habitants of this Borough for all purposes. Tuberculosis work is undertaken by the Worcestershire County Council, and patients requiring sanatorium treatment are sent to: (i) King Edward VII Memorial Sanatorium, Knightwick. (ii) Hill Top Hospital, Bromsgrove. (iii) Hayley Green Hospital. Non-pulmonary cases are admitted to one of the] above institutions or the County Council make arrangements for their admission to the Birmingham Royal Cripples Hospital. The County Council provide a Tuberculosis Dispensary at 14, Laurel Lane, at which Dr. S.
