Tlie Solieme made under Section 26 of tbe Natioiia] Ifealtli Service Act ])rovides that upon the request of their pai'ents or oaiardians (diildren may receive ])rotectiou against whoojdiig cougli, it being intended that hy use of a mixed vaccine this ])i‘otection shall be given at the same time as they ai'(‘ immunised against diphtheria. During the year, 1,066 (Oiildren received this dual prote(“tion and 44 (diildren who had ])reviously lieen immunised against di])htheT'ia were given se])ai‘ate anti-whoo])ing cough injeidions.
