After the Princess had contemplated this transac- tion, she extended the tongue of reprehension, and began to exclaim ; “ How' profoundly ignorant must those merchants be, w'ho throw, away their ready-mo- ney in speculation, and, afterwards, trade upon credit! what they anticipate from credit they never obtain ; and the cash which they parted with, they never re- cover. Nahkshebi, prudence excels all things; therefore have no cmnection ivith an unseasonable upbraider. ’Tis in- consistent with the laws of prudence, that, by reproving others we should stigmatize ourselves.
