A portrait of a woman. Not the same subject as the painting called "A Lancashire witch" painted by William Bradley and purchased by Salford Museum & Art Gallery in 1877. Presumably the phrase here means that she could charm people with her beauty. She has large staring eyes, a smile, and a low-cut dress, and holds a locket (presumably meant to be the man whom she is charming). In the background a wood
