AGentl£man- of Reading, in Berklhire> middle-aged, .and of a fcorbutic habit of body, applied to me for advice, July the ift, 1790. His conftitutibn fcenried to indicate a jharp thin blood, not without fufpicjon of an old vehereal taint. His legs were not only much fwelled and in- flamed, But difcoloured, of a livid hue, and in many places overfpread with corroding uL cers^ with callous edges, which difcharged a? thin (harp humour, and had made feveral fmall holes, which gave the part the appearance of a honey-comb, ' ■ ' He took the extract two months and was cured; the fvvelling and inflammation gradu- ally fubflded, and the ulcerations healed. The medicine kept him gently laseative, and encreafed his quantity of urine.
