![In the Time of King Edward I. Robert de Vere, Earl of Oxford, held the Manor of Fingreth, in the County of Ejfsx, by Serjeanty of being Chamber- lain of our Lord the King, on the Day of his Co- ronation ; and the fame Robert, and Matilda his Wife, held the Manor of Ging-Regina by the Ser- jeanty of keeping the Chamber of our Lady the Queen on the Day of the Coronation aforefaid *. And by Inquifition taken the 6th of Edw.II. it was found that the Earls of Oxford, by the Heir of Sandford, antiently held the Manors of Fingrey and Wulfelmelflon, in the County of Cambridge f, by the Serjeanty of Chamberlainfhip to the Queens of Eng- land, at the King’s Coronation J. And at the Coronation of King James II. the Lord of the Manor of Fyngrjth in Effex, claimed to be ChamberlainXo the Queen for the Day, and to have the Queen’s Bed, and Furniture, the Bafons, &c. be- longing to the Office ; and to have a Clerk in the Exchequer, to demand and receive the Queen’s Gold, See. Which Claim was difallowed, becaufe not made out; but the Claimant was left to profecute it at Law, if he thought fit ||, As the Court of Claims never fat after the Arri- val and Marriage of her prefent Majefty, Queen * Robertus de Vcre, Comes Oxonke, tenet Manerium de Fingreth, in Com.
