'I'he outbrouk of this disease which occurred in ictij continued to affect the district during the first six months of the year, and 2b deaths resulted. Many of the patients who recovered were seriously affected by ])neumonia, and other conijdications. The teacliers notified 175 cases of the disease. vSt. Peter’s Infant vSehool was closed for four weeks from i6th Janviary. On bth i\Iarch Chadsmoor Infants’ vSehool was closed, and on uSth March, after \-isiting the homes of some of Ihe cases rc'ported by the headmistress, I advised closure of West Hill Infants’ .School. On 7th May Cannock Endowed Infants’ School, and on 12th i\Iay Walsall Road Infants’ .School were closed. On June 15th the Infant Class at .St. Paul’s .School, Pridgtown, was closed. 'I'he mortality, with the exception of two cases, was confined to children under five years of age. SCARLET FEVER.
