![ENTERIC FEVER. Two cases were reported. One was removed to the Rural District Council’s hospital. The other was nursed at home. .Some defects at the latter premises still remain nnrem.edied. Both cases recovered. DIARRHCEAL DISEASES. of the 2() deaths at all ages recorded from these diseases 20 were under one year, and 23 under two years. In 13 cases th.e closet accommoda- tion was a privy midden, in three a waste-vatev closet, and in two a fresh-water closet. In only five cases cemlel it be said that there was a proper fooel store. One case was an illegitimate chilel. In two cases the mother had died shortly after 1 iith. In (>ne case' tlu- mother stateel she had bir icd eight children in infancy. In another case complaints were made that'' Hies were lenible.” In my report for May I advised the issue of posteis, giving advice as to these diseases, and also ])ointcel out that increa.sed attention should be given to .scavenging during the summer months. The disease is so intimatelv associated with find conditions of the surface soil in the immediate neighbourhood of dwellings, and it is therefore eminently desirable that all cards and entries should be paved.
