About this work
Description
Exposition of modern methods used in diagnosis and treatment of scabies. The film shows the habits and life-cycle of the mite, the areas of distribution of its burrows under the human skin, the secondary infections which make diagnosis and treatment difficult, and methods of treatment. In treatment, sulphur ointment is very effective, but has certain disadvantages; and benzyle benzoate emulsion is now the most favoured medicament. Treatment at a centre is shown, and instructions for home- treatment are illustrated. Examination of contacts is also dealt; here the golden rule is 'treat all suspects'. For doctors, health visitors, sanitary inspectors, nurses and medical orderlies.
