    R E F A T being efteemed neceffary for every Practitioner of the important Art of Midwifery to acquire a com- petent Knowledge of the Female Pelvis, the Uterus, and other Parts fubfcrvient to Generation ; feveral gentlemen of the Faculty in this Metropolis thought it advifeable to attempt ibis nenu Edition of Dr. Smellie's Anatomical Tables and Cuts, together with an Abridgement of his Pmftice, upon fuch a fcale, as to form a convenient Pocket Volume. The Doctor's ufeful treatife upon this fubjeft, with Col- lections of Cafes in three Volumes 8'vo. and his Folio Edi- tion of the Tables &c. are in the hands of but few. The Publifter of this Work, hath at a great expence of time and money prepared it for the Public. For the convenience of fuch Gentlemen as have the three Volumes without the Cuts, the References are reprinted. BOSTON' July 1786. • Errata] Page 41. Line 4th for e^read to the Sacrum.
