    Resolved that the following REPORT * of the Superintendent be printed and circulated. To the Committee of Visitors. Gentlemen, The health of the Asylum in the year 1859 has been equally good with that of former years. The only period of any prevailing illness was the month of February. There always exists in such Establishments many decrepid persons whose strength scarcely supports them in life, and the Committee have not once met during the year without some decease being reported. The mor¬ tality of the year was however, rather below the usual average. The death of one Patient was caused by his own act ; apparently an attempt to escape. * Rule 25—[of the General Rules of the Asylum.] The Superintendent shall submit to the Committee of Visitors, at their first Meeting after the Oxfordshire Epiphany Quarter Sessions annually, a Report in writing, of the general condition of the Asylum ? and the number and character of the Patients ; distinguishing the numbers who have been received and discharged as cured ; the number of re-admissions ; the number em¬ ployed, and in what manner ; the deaths which have occurred in the preceding year, and also the total number of discharges, cures, and deaths since the opening of the Institution, and specifying the sexes in each statement ; with such other facts as the Superintendent may think desirable, or which the Visitors may have suggested.
