![Hospitals.—Patients requiring general medical or surgical care are sent to Burton, Derby, or Hartshill Infirmaries. With regard to cases of infectious disease the Urban and Rural Districts (Uttoxeter) have entered into an agreement with Stone Joint Hos])ital Board whereby the latter provide ambulance and hospital facilities for cases of infectious disease. This arrangement has proved very satisfactory, and it was only on isolated occasions that accommodation was insufficient. It is hoped that this arrangement wdll continue until the Mid. Staffs. Local Authorities Hospital is erected. VITAL STATISTICS. Live Births. Males. Females. Total. Legitimate... 69 49 118 Illegitimate 2 1 3 Total 71 50 121 Birth rate 12-6 per 1000 of population.
