![Fluoridation of Water IM^erteldjijgs* In 1965 a circular from the Ministry of Health expressed the Mnister's hope that Local Authorities would take steps to add fluoride to public water supplies where these are naturally deficient. It is to be regreted that neitlier nationally nor locally has real progress been made in the last year. The Rural District Council were advised to support the County Council if they decided to undertake fluoridation but both Coxancils expressed themselves as opposed to this preventative measure. Water Samples, The following table shows the results of bacteriological analyses oanded out by the Public Health Laboratory, Dorchester, during the year from various supplies taken by the Local Authority, and the West Dorset Water Board, Supplies, Total. Satisfactoiy, Suspect, Unsatisfactory. After service of a notice the owner finally agreed to connect to the West Dorset supply, (2) Two samples from an estate supply. Subsequent samples after improvement work were satisfactory, (3) T\7o samples from a farm supply.
