    From thefe cafes, it plainly appears, how Conftant and uniform are the effects of Sexton's powder, and how confident their operations with the theory we have flightly hinted. It would therefore be alrnoft unneceffary to add, that they have been adminiflered with fuccefs, in the Meajles, llow Fevers, and inflammatory diforders, th'e confequences of an obftrudted perfpiration from fudden colds; the llightefb at¬ tention to the preceding hiftorieSj will fufficiently point out their utility in thefe. To conclude, we have only to wifh that the P reft dents and Go¬ vernors of the Small-Pox Hofpital, may lay aflde that prejudice, which is generally conceived againft every innovation, and may fo far confide in our candour, as to permit a few trials to be made, under the direction of the learned gentle¬ man, intruded with the care of the fick. We are ready to give all poflible fecurity of the fafety of the medicine-, and to red its reputation upon the refult of that gentleman’s experiments, and the candid report he fhall be pleafed to make to the board* In a word, if the medicine has merit, let the publick enjoy the benefit; if it has none, juftice and humanity require, that a fraud of the mo ft fatal confequences to fociety, fhould be ex- pofed and detedled.
