    ticnlar objections to the confirmation of the nomination of Dr. Simons, I cannot perceive how it can be reasonably withheld ; and especially when I call to mind that he has been induced to remain in the service, upon the faith of tho deliberate action of the Senate affirming his rights, and reposing upon the Commission he holds under the hand and authority of the President, issued in furtherance of the Senate's recommendation, and supported by the official opinion of the distinguished Attorney General of the United States.
