![Mount Vernon. — According to DocU Edwards account, Fulton’s System is putting Navigation out of vogue. — I have not read a page in the Book, — but if the Potomack Company can extract any thing useful from it I shall feel happy in having sent it to you.” 433 The Solitary, or Carthusian Gardener, i vol. If the inscription noted above means that John Parke Custis gave the book in 1779 to William Skilling, it could hardly have been among Washington’s books at the time of his death, yet it appeared in the 1876 sale among other books which had belonged to Washington, but bore ho mark of his ownership. 19 Gibson’s Diseases of Horses, i vol.
