Cet ouvrage fut inspiré par les difficultés que la Compagnie des Indes Occidentales €prouva au Brésil dans la guerre contre les Portugais. Une réunion avec la Compagnie des Indes Orientales doublerait les forces hollandaises. On se plaint que cet ouvrage a été publié sans le nom de l’auteur, car il se montre trés bien informé sur I’état actuel du Brésil et 11 donne beaucoup de détails intéressants pour l’histoire de la colonisation hollandaise dans l’Amérique du Sud.
