![It has been objected to t]ie practice of rotation tJiat the child’s neck may be broken by it. It miglit, perhaps, if tlie slioulders were fixed, and tlic accou- cheur were resolved at all hazards to get the occiput forwards, l)ut it will not be broken by one careful not to use violence. Very little force is needed for rotation. The shoulders will, I believe, turn in utero before the neck will break. I have never known it happen, or read of its happening, and I think the objection is theoi'etical, not practical. The head will turn through three-eighths of a circle without dis- location, and this amouut of rotation is enough for delivery.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b21719950_0038.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
