Hdward Barlow voyages every- where, he suffers shipwreck, stranding, imprisonment, &c. There is hardly an aspect of sea life which Barlow does not experience or touch upon. He fought against the Barbary Pirates; at the Battle of Lowestoft, 1665; captured by the Dutch in the Straits of Banca, 1672; two Voyages to the West Indies, 1678-81 ; Various Voyages to India, China, &e., 1683-1701, &c. Barlow was not only a superb sea-man, but an artist, and his drawings are of considerable ability.
