    A remark worthy of atten- tion. Great care was taken to fecure the ar- teries, by needle and ligature, as the operator proceeded carefully differing, by which precautions the effufion of blood was but fmall, confidering the lize and extent of the tumor, which weighed between five and fix pounds. No ill accident happened in, or in confequence of, the operation ; the wound digefted and healed kindly, and the patient left the houfe with it per- fectly cicatrized in about ten weeks, as Mr. Lewis informed me; tho’ not free from other complaints, and among the reft fhe had a Bronchocele, which did not pafs unnoticed in our confultation. I was concerned the year before in an operation of the fame kind. The tumor was fituated upon a woman’s thigh, in confequence of an accident received ten years before. It extended from a few inches above her knee near to her body, and meafured full a yard in circumfe- rence.
