![under my Eye, have been very Extraordinary, in the feveral Stages of that Diftemper ; and, even, where the Patients have been fuppofed to derive their Diforders from their Parents. This being the Cafe ; and, as I am thoroughly convinced that thefe Drops are a moil Excellent, perhaps the greateft known Antifcor'outick, and beft Purifier of the Blood; fo, I cannot help flat¬ tering myfelf with a Hope, that they would be a great Prefervative againft that fatal Diftemper, which Deftroys, in a Year, fo many of our brave Seamen •, and often occafions National Lofies and Difappointments, in the moil important Under¬ takings, The Method I would propofe is, that they be given to the Seamen, under proper Direflion, from the time of their failing upon long Voyages : And I moil heartily wifh fome Experiments, of this kind, may be made of them ; as I am perfuaded that they may be tried without the lead Hazard ; and the Expence too trifling to be mentioned as an Objection. For if they prove Suceefsful, and anfwer the End hereby propofed, and hoped for ; it wil] be Happy for the Publick ; for the valuable Indivi¬ duals ; and for Me, who have prefumed to re^ commend the Experiment, Late Mr. Ward’j Sweating Powder, N°. I. according to his Book. *jp A K E Ipecacuanha, Liquorice, and Opium, each one Ounce. Nitre and Vitriolated Tar¬ tar, each four Ounces. Fulminate. Bear them, in a Mortar, with the Opium. Sift through a fine Sieve to the Ipecacuanha and Liquo¬ rice : Mix well by flfting.
