About this work

Description

Collection of medical receipts in Italian, with a few in Latin. Preceded by 'Li sette salmi penitentiali di David in verso heroico novamente ridotti per Agostino Cesareo'. The 'Sette salmi' (ff. 1-36) and the Indexes are by the same hand: the receipts by a different, but contemporary scribe. The collection of receipts seems to have been compiled in a Monastery, as many of them are stated to have been given or used with success by individual named monks: and on fol. 81v a receipt is noted as 'provata da nostri fratri'.
