John Herforde for Robert Toy, 1546 eK oir x” There were two or perhaps three issues of this book in 1546, with apparently identical titles. Lowndes describes it as 12mo, 132 leaves, sheet EF 4 1]., in Greek ; the Huth copy was described as 8vo, A-S 4 in eights, except B, 4 ll. in Greek (7.e., 136 leaves) ; the collation of this copy is: A-T 4 in eights, except E, 12 1l1., Kr 5-8 containing the Greek quotation, being an inserted half leaf. The leaves are numbered 1-120 and 123-154, 121 and 122 being dropped. The passage quoted in the Huth catalogue ends here: “ bycause some children learne greake in this time, it maye serue them for a lesso...and conferme them againste the malyce of the deuyl.” 400 [Garzont (T.)] The Hospitall of Incurable Fooles: Erected in English, as near the first Italian modell and platforme, as the vnskilfull hand of an ignorant Architect could deuise, title slighty defective and mended, the dedication to John Hodgson (inserted after 54), apparently from a smaller copy, panelled red movocco gilt, Duff crest on sides, by Fazakerley, UNCUT 4to.
