    Neither of the two fatal cases attended the ante-natal clinic. The average Maternal Death rate for the period 1928—1987 was 4.48 per 1,000 Live births. REGISTRATION OF CURSING HOMES, One nursing home is registered under the Public Health Acts, 1986. Under Section 192 of the Act, power is given to exe^npt certain hospitals from the operation of the Act, and under this Section, exemption has been granted to the Tynemouth Victoria Jubilee Infirmary (voluntary general hospital, with a maternity ward).
