(Published by Bertrants in 1864.) £5 5s D’Allemagne describes these cards as follows :— ‘“ In 1864, there was published at the printing house of Bertrants, rue Rodier, 47, a Game of Tarots, comprising 52 cards, may be of the numerical series only. These cards are divided into three parts; in the centre is a scene which occupies the greater part of the card; at the top, and on the right is engraved a small card of an ordinary game, and as a counterpart, there is another card of the same dimensions, in which the marks are replaced by letters of the alphabet. The space included between these two cards is filled in by signs showing a starry corner of the firmament. The smaller part of the card is taken up with small scenes or ordinary objects.’’ Jeu des Quatres Parties du Monde.
