Talladas writes that he died at Palma on the 19th February, 1554. He was the author of an original and most rare work, the art of Parturition [the work we offer for sale above] written from his lengthy personal experience and observations.”’ . See Bover, Escritores Baleares, No. 229, p. 158. Heredia Catalogue etc., No. 491, vol. 1, p. 148. The work is divided into two parts, the second of which is entitled ‘‘ De la difficultad de la Emprenacio.’”? The text of the “‘ first book,”’ was finished by the author on 20th November, 1528. The Inquisition objected to two passages on seminal emission on folio 107 and 112, and in the three copies known endeavoured to make these lines illegible. The author who was also a poet as he wrote the above work in Spanish, transmuted his name from Carbo, into Carbon, just as Bosca the poet of Barcelona, transmuted his name into Boscan under the influence of the Renaissance. Copies of this work are of excessive rarity and only three copies are known. Two of these are now in the Bibliotheca Catalunya, and the third is the one we offer for sale.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30483207_0015.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
