Description

Art miserieux de Raymond Lulle, ou science généralle. Praxis argumentandi. Illustrated with a few pen-drawn diagrams, and with a small engraved portrait of Lully laid down and used as a fronispiece. The 'Art misterieux' is apparently copied from a 15th cent. MS. It has a colophon: 'Decouuer par le R[everend] pere/Eustache de Brie Recollet et/fini de descrire par J Perrin/Chanoine de Ste Marthe ce 15/7bre 1455 à Tharascon'. Below, the signature in pencil 'Frederick Hockley 1827', whose name also appears on the recto and verso of the portrait, and on the first leaf.
