Borrowers are requested to examine books on receiving them, and call attention to any fault. Borrowers are specially cautioned against writing in or turning down the leaves of books, or allowing them to get wet in carrying them to and from the Libraries. Books should be kept out of the reach of animals. The Librarian is empowered to refuse bopks to messengers whom he may consider unfit to take proper cape of thcni. Borrowers should,, a§ far. as possible, attend personally to exchange their books. Time allowed for Reading is 14 days, including Sundays and excluding the day of issue. Books taken out on any day ;of the week are returnable dh or before the same day i n the second week afterwards, and must be returned to ’** The Library from which they have been borrowed. Borrowers must not lend their books. Renewals—Any book can be renewed for a further period of 14 days provided it is not required by another borrower, by reporting personally or by messenger, tele- phone or post-card, the number of the book and the date of issue at the Library from which it was borrowed. No book can be renewed more than once, except at the ^“cretion of the Librarian, and not at all if a fine is owing. tbs —Borrowers will be fined one penny for each week a week during which a book is detained allowed for reading.
