Otbew is; You will experience much fervency and devotion in religious worship, will feel awed by the thoughts of the greatness of God, are deferential towards the aged and superiors, inclined to adhere to the old-established customs, and have a strong _ desire to propagate and extend your religious views. athe ay} You have profound 1espect for everything that is good and great, time-honoured usuages, forms, ceremonies, institutions ; and experience great fervour in religious worship. To Cultivate——Never allow yourself to speak irreverently of sacred things, or old age, attend religious worship, study and admire the Divine in nature, pay due respect to superiors, and associate with persons of high moral character. To Restrain.—Do not think of the Deity with feelings of awe and dread, but as a kind and loving heavenly Father, good to all his creatures. You are inclined to be too serious; do not frown at every trifling joke or pleasan- try, thinking them levity; there is a time for everything, and mirthfulness, which is a part of man’s nature, should be indulged in sometimes. 28. Benevolence. Sympathy, liberality, charity, kindness, good-nature, tenderness, com- passion, generosity, philanthropy; desire to do good, to help others; in- terest in the welfare of humanity, and in progressive and reform movements affecting the greatest good for the greatest number. Excess—Profuse, generosity and liberality; morbid sympathy, prodigality of means, posses- sions, services. Deficiency—Lack of sympathy or interest in other’s suffer- ings and welfare; inhumanity, selfishness and ingratitude. 1st degree.—You have little or no human feeling, but are selfish in propor- tion to the strength of other faculties. 2nd, *,, You care little for the sufferings of others, so long as you are at ease yourself; are very unsympathising and wanting in human feeling. BEC You manifest a feeling of indifference as to the welfare and happiness of others, are not very self-sacrificing, charitable, or kind. Atha. You are capable of manifesting a fair degree of sympathy, kind- ness, and fellow-feeling, when this faculty is aroused; yet are not philanthropic or easily stirred to kindly, generous acts. eth alae, 3 You have a good amount of sympathy and desire for the welfare of others, disposed to be generous, kind and obliging, and will feel for the suffering; yet may sometimes allow personal feelings and interests to overrule sympathy and kindness. Gth 97,5 You have a large amount of benevolence; are tender, generous, kind-hearted, sympathising, and self-sacrificing, ever ready to to do others a good turn; have a strong desire to alleviate the wants of suffering humanity, so far as your abilities and means will permit; can feel and sympathise with the suffer- ing, and will be guided in your actions by true charity. yaa sich PF You are extremely benevolent, kind-hearted, charitable, sympa- thising, and forgiving; feel excessively for suffering humanity; are embued with a truly philanthropic disposi- tion, literally overflowing with sympathy and practical good- ness; desire to have the ability, and will do all in your power to benefit humanity. To Cultivate.—Try always to be kind, obliging, generous, sympathising, and forgiving, lend a helping hand whenever you can, even though it may be at the cost of a little self-sacrifice; cultivate a charitable, philanthropic spirit. You will find there is a world of pleasure in doing all the good you can. .
