(i) To the holders of Collection Boxes, which produced £40 19s. 2d., as compared with £34 18s. 5d. last year. {]) The Governors feel that they must offer their sincerest thanks to the Ladies of the St. John Nursing Association and the Ladies’ Committee of the Hospital for the splendid effort on Pound Day in raising the handsome sum of £89 16s. 7d. and 1431 pounds of groceries, vegetables, &c., their efforts in this respect having assisted the Institution most materially. At the suggestion of the Ladies’ Committee, a Joint Com¬ mittee was appointed to organise an Bgg Week, which was a substantial success, the number of eggs handed to the Hospital being 5,000. Thi s is in addition to the efforts made bv local Egg Shows, which also brought in a very large number. (k) The Board are glad' to acknowledge the payment by the Approved Societies of £ 150 4s. 9d. in respect of In-Patient treatment of their members. The amount received from this source last year was £71 17s. 9d. The X-Ray Department has radiographed 328 cases during the year, as against 190 last year. The Governors again tender their thanks to the Hon. Operators, and to Mr. G. A. Seaman, the Hon, Photographer. Ultra Violet-Ray. During the year 93 cases attended, which necessitated 2,573 treatments.
