    INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD. The one slaughterhouse in use in the Urban District closed down in March prior to the hearing of the proprietor’s appeal against conviction by the Witham Magistrates Court for offences under the Regulations. The Appeal was disnissod and the slaughterhouse did not re-open. A subsequent application by the proprietor for a licence was refused by the Council on the grounds that the premises did not comply with the Regulations. As none of the meat produced at the slaughterhouse had been suppliod to local butchers, there was no effect on the district’s requirements.
