    PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS—GRANTS. The Council’s Scheme was inaugurated on the 1st July, 1943, and six new applications for grants were received and allowed from the 1st January, 1946, to the 31st December, 1946. Eight cases are at present receiving grants. The scheme has been working satisfactorily. For the above perod tthe following grants were made:— Maintenance Discretionary Special Allowances. Munro Campbell, the Clinical Tuberculosis Officer, who is also Medical Superintendent of the Westmorland Sanatorium, Meathop, and to whom our thanks and appreciation are expressed for his very helpful co-operation. COUNTY OF WESTMORLAND TUBERCULOSIS SCHEME. There has been no material change in the working of this scheme during the year. Dispensaries at Kendal, Appleby and Meathop have been main¬ tained and attendances have been 703, and domiciliary visits to patients in the outlying districts have numbered 225.
