It is hardly necessary to remark that, after traversing Descemet’s membrane, the point of the knife should be turned, to avoid wounding the anterior capsule. Immediately after the operation, a secure and well-fitting pressure bandage should be applied, the pa- tient kept quietly in bed, and other- wise treated as after the formation of an artificial pupil. After two days the wound is usually healed and the danger caused by the opera- tion is over.
